Fanmei Wang, PhD
Engaging and creative Data & AI practitioner, and a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), currently working for the Government of Canada.
Prior to this role, I accumulated over 15 years of experience teaching and conducting research in Human Resources Management (HRM) at universities and world-renowned research institutions. In addition to my subject-matter expertise, I have taught both quantitative and qualitative methods at the graduate level. My research focuses on diversity and cultural sensitivity; ethnic and racial minority experiences in HRM fields; and related policies.
Over the past two years, I have expanded from analytics into data and AI architecture and full-stack delivery, building an end-to-end Python data pipeline with YAML-driven configuration, a contract-first approach for column standards and transformations, and a transformation engine with an EXPR-based DSL (registry + parser) for reusable, maintainable logic. I also build and ship full-stack web applications and Python APIs (FastAPI/Flask), including a bilingual language training platform for the 2025 Public Service Data and AI Challenge.
In parallel to delivery, I keep a steady build‑and‑learn stream—rule‑based and LLM‑powered MVPs/PoCs, NLP/ML experiments on structured and text data, and cloud Data & AI patterns exercised under real constraints (privacy, governance, cost, and performance). I document evaluation, trade‑offs, and explainability so prototypes can graduate into reliable tools. That is what I mean by research‑grade data, production‑grade AI; HRM is my home field, but the rigor travels.
